Kerala Tour Package from Australia

The 'slow down' half of an India itinerary — and increasingly booked as a standalone trip in its own right.

Set the pace expectation early

Kerala sells itself once a client has seen a single photo of a houseboat on the backwaters — the harder part is setting expectations correctly about pace. This isn't a landmark-a-day itinerary, and clients expecting that pace tend to be the least satisfied. It works best pitched explicitly as a change of gear from a busier north India leg.

A structure that reliably works

One to two nights in Kochi for colonial heritage, two nights on a backwater houseboat or fixed resort, and two to three nights in Munnar's tea country covers the essential range without over-packing the schedule. Beach time at the end works better as a short closer than a long stay.

Ayurveda as a genuine upsell, not a spa add-on

Kerala's Ayurvedic tradition is documented and practitioner-led, not a spa-menu approximation — a real point of difference worth explaining to clients, since it changes how much time a genuine program actually needs in the itinerary.
