India's heritage-hotel state — where the palace category genuinely delivers.

Rajasthan is the strongest honeymoon and milestone-travel destination in our network, built on palaces and forts that are still standing, still owned, and still working as hotels.

Overview

Rajasthan carries more of India's heritage-hotel inventory than anywhere else in the country — actual palaces and forts converted into properties, not themed builds. Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur each have a distinct character (pink-city bazaars, lake-palace romance, blue-city drama), which is what makes a multi-city Rajasthan circuit feel varied rather than repetitive.

Highlights

Jaipur City Palace & Amber Fort

The pink city's royal core, still partly a working residence.

Udaipur's lake palaces

The most romantic city in the state, built around Lake Pichola.

Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort

Looming over the blue city, one of India's best-preserved forts.

Jaisalmer's living fort

A desert fort town where people still live and trade inside the walls.

Best time to visit

Oct–MarCool, clear — peak season, book heritage hotels early
Apr–JunVery hot, desert regions extreme
Jul–SepMonsoon, lush but humid
Dec–JanCan be cold at night in the desert — pack layers
